Pheasant harvest traditions

Every phez I shoot is special, and over time i've developed some "traditions" whenever I hunt and am fortunate enough to bag a bird.

1. I keep one tail feather from every bird. Each year gets a new vase and the feathers go in there. They make great decoration and the collar from my last dog that passed away is around the vase of feathers from her last year's hunt.

2. I treat myself to one, just one, glass of sippin' whiskey for every bird that I get. Its a nice time to reflect on the day and the hunt and dogs.

3. When I clean and breast out/leg out the birds, I have the dogs there with me. They will get several treats of slivers of raw pheasant meat from each bird. Maybe it's a primal thing, but they love it. When I clean the birds its like they know it is treat time. And no, even after years of doing this, I've never had a sick dog or a dog that decided to munch on birds in the field.

Anyone else have ways they celebrate the hunt?
