On Tuesday the 17th, the rest of my group had headed home but I decided to try a little hunting near Larned hoping to get into more quail. Since I hadn't done any scouting around that area, I looked up Justin Hammond who lives in Larned. He has access to a lot of private land and knows the area real well.
It turned out to be a great hunt. We ended up with our limit on quail and one short of our limit on pheasants. It was quite a treat for me to get into that many quail. I have gotten a lot of good pheasant hunting the last few years but the quail have been hard to find.
Here are a couple of pictures, unfortunately they were taken after dark so they don't show what a great day we had.
