Personal Roadside Survey

The DNR should be in the middle of their August Roadside Survey. I live on and drive a lot of gravel. I am not seeing birds like I did last year on a daily basis. Curious to hear what everyone else is seeing.
 
Havent seen a one from the road since early July, but the cover is extremely tall this year from all the july rains so they probably arent in any of the ditches/field edges like they were last year. Last cut of hay is about to happen (or is happening), that will push some out to be visible. I can tell you from late spring, i heard and saw more pheasant than I ever have.

Lots of good growth in the crp and draws this year, should be good if the weather is!
 
Yeah, I've been snooping in southern MN and haven't seen any the last few weekends. But to echo the last comment, when the crops and grass get high it can be tough to see 'em.
 
Definitely a good cover year. But I would still expect to see them on dewy mornings on the road to dry off.
