KB the blues hold super tight on day 2 one flushed & my buddy shot and up jumped 4 more and as we both fired anothr group of 4 jumped as we fired again 2 more flushed all came out of small cluster of aspens maybe 10 feet in radius the other thing these birds do is fly right on top of the sage bushes thats why we dont use my dog he's a chaser, alot of times they jump up into the trees thats when we use the pump and flush system to get them out we dont tree trim not very sporting you litterually need to kick them off the ground so we usually like to b.s. as we push the bush sure beats the quiet pheasant walks we all endure. We tend to find them at about 8000ft to 9500ft in elevation with a good mix of aspens and pines, find area's with good food source like choke cherries, huckle berries they feed on that stuff until the snow starts flyin. You also assumed right about the size the funny part is the bigger ones usually flush first and the young ones wait until they here shoots then they fly usually not the case for pheasants. Thanks hen the past year was not so fruitful after this hunt i to dont think i'll be chasin the blues so i will be forever greatful for this blessed hunt.
