Reading between the lines, this last spring was rough on upland game bird nesting success. However, last year a very high number of adult birds went into winter and survived very well. So, this year in Oregon will be relatively high numbers of birds but very few young, dumb birds. I really do hope that the California Quail numbers are as high as their estimates!!! If so, it will be a great year hunting those little guys. Pheasant hunting looks like it will be about the same as last year, with relatively few young birds and this leaves me really hoping for a mild winter and a spring that is very favorable for upland birds next spring.
So, more of last year!!
