Well its almost here another wonderful season here in Missouri.
hitting Whetstone on Friday, then going to Kirksville, stay at my daughters, then go to Seat on Saturday (The heck with them youth deer hunters)
and Sever on Sunday morning. three of the so called conservation hot spots

Where is every one else going?

Prairie

Will be headed to prairie ground due to the fact it's shotgun only for deer. Had a rather heated encounter with a pissed off dad on my usual public hotspot a couple years ago. He had trouble understanding the definition of public so I explained it. Have yet to run into youth deer hunters on the prairie. Not worth the hassle and I tend to fair pretty well.:)

Really? wow I hunted the youth season once and a bullet flew over my head on private and never saw the hunter in the tree
 
I was thinking about heading to northwest MO to hunt some public (which is all I hunt). I just got off the phone with an agent at Bilby (everyone's favorite place) and he said 70% of the beans still remain and 100% of the corn. To top it off they've already received 2 inches of rain there. Still might give it a go, but advantage pheasants. Otherwise, I'm staying on my side of the state and will chase some quail. Either way I'll be somewhere enjoying the time out in the field. Best of luck guys have fun, be safe.
 
Parents weekend at Tulsa U to see my freshman daughter so no hunting for me this weekend. First one missed in over 20 years but what can you do?

One more weekend for me. im going to NE Ks. Seen some nice WIHA up there hopefully see something Quail more than likely which is fine by me. Shoot straight if your going out this weekend.
 
Not good
Went to whetstone Friday several hunters there
I saw no birds
I think the rain had a lot to do with it
Talked to a few others only one found a covey and they. Only got one
Went to mark twain sat hunted only in the morning
Didn't find a thing except dot 6 r 7 woodcock
Went back to whetstone this morning didn't see another bird hunter
And also no birds
Looks like a longggggggg. Season
Hope the rest of you found some
