Curious how everyone did on opening weekend pheasant for those who got out? Living in Bozeman, I ventured up around Toston to a few BMA plots there. Just a short day half day trip.... and a lot of worthless property for birds. I could see how the land would be okay for birds before they cut the hay and put their cattle out on it, but now you couldn't hide a tennis ball on most of the properties there. One decent plot I found was packed full of hunters, so maybe someone had some luck. Never did see a single pheasant all day. Ventured into the Elk Mountains just west there and immediately found a blue grouse ;-)
