Just made it back to CNY from hunting the first 5 days, It was a good opening week but the weather threw a few curves this year. I dont know if it was just great timing or what but we installed a new tankless heater and furnace in the camp days before the storms hit. The opener was great except for the wind was howling so made shooting way more difficult. The rain slopped up the roads so access on our grounds was limited but the bird numbers were real positive like 10-12 years ago. Duck hunting was nothing short of spectacular. Ran the legs off the dogs to the point we had to rest them on Tuesday and do road hunting instead. but our small group knocked down 30 pheasants and over 50 ducks.
