Opening Day Crowds

I was planning to hunt opening day with my usual hunting comrades, but they bugged out this year. I usually hunt Phillips County, but since it will be just me and my dog I wanted to try a new area that may have a little less than the usual crowds on Opening Day. Any thoughts from the wise hunters on the Forum?

Crowds are part of opening day pretty much everywhere in pheasant country - especially w/the very limited prime pheasant-habitat we have here in eastern CO. None of us really like it, we all just deal with it...

I talk smack every year about avoiding the circus & just waiting till afterward - but even in the midst of very bad times for me personally right now, I will probably still be out there come the crack of dawn on Sat morn!

I sure do like midweek late in the season on a sullen winter day a whole lot better though!!!

Hey if we're lucky, maybe the rains will spook some of the slackers away and save more birds for mid-to-late season + seed-stock for next yr!

Keep that rain a-comin'! The crowds may still come, but most of them aren't dedicated (or stupid) enough to slog through muddy fields chasing birds for long.
