Opening day was interesting.
- The area where I do a lot of my hunting experienced really bad hail in both July and August. Many houses, equipment and fields were negatively impacted.
- I hunted all private land.
- The cover was really thick and crispy.
- The temperatures neared 70 degrees by 11 am. There was very little wind.
- I had 3 opportunities in 11 miles of walking. I usually have 3 opportunities in the first hour. We shot all 3 birds, but we only recovered 1. That is not like Echo as she always finds my injured birds.
- I hope that cold, wet conditions improve the hunting.
