Open Carry of Handguns OK While Hunting

A new Kansas law allows people who are hunting and fishing to open carry a handgun. The gun cannot be used in hunting or fishing unless the use of such a weapon is a legal method of take. The KDWPT cautions, for example, that a handgun cannot be used to finish off an arrow shot deer during bow season.

BC,

Can you post a link to the Regulation and or Law?

By the way, Oklahoma this week will become the 26th state to allow open carrying of handguns. It's been over 30 years since the law restricting open carry was put in effect. I'm in favor of the new open carry law as well as the current concelled carry permits.:10sign:

Another forum I frequent has a long discussion going on about the new Oklahoma law. While some see it as a win, because it allows open carry, others see it as a loss, because in a way we're giving in that what is a right granted by The Constitution, is now a privilidge granted by the state. I see it both ways, but definitely lean to The Constitution as granting us that right.

Cheesy,

I'm with you on the Constitution. I will say that the new Law does allow all landowners to open carry on their property, as well as all CCP holders too make choices as to which way to carry in public. That is better than the old Law.
