Anyone getting out this weekend for birds? I'm going to chase the quail, around the Tucson area, hoping for better numbers then here in cental Az.
We have had some rain of late and much cooler weather. I'm hoping this will covey them up into much larger coveys.:)

On my way north right now heading for chukar country. It's gonna be a cold one with highs in the mid 30s and snow. Hoping to find the birds concentrated below the snow. Good luck Jmac, I hope you get into them.

Good luck QH,

Chuckars are alot of work. Hope you get into those red legged devils.

I am hoping to get a couple more outings in before the Jan 2 closure :)mad:). The dog is going to be bummed out by Jan 3rd, might have to drive to Idaho for some chukars in late Jan.

Hit it hard hiking miles and miles in Illinois after cackle birds yesterday and going to trudge through foot deep snow tomorrow looking for Mr. White.

Probably going to head out again New Years day too.

Wow great day today. Went out towards Tucson and saw hundreds of Quail. Well educated Quail. They flushed out at 75 yards in the hundreds. I only shot once, and took one rooster. They guys I was hunting with shot at the covey rise, and never connected, they where way out of shotgun range.

Just glade to see so many. One month left and I know where to look.:10sign:

Guess I better buy a new license.:)

I got out for a few hours this afternoon. One rooster flushed wild and one was a nice flush. Always happy with one shot/one bird! :D

I thought last weekend in ND was the closer, but some local friends want one last SD hunt on Sat the 5th. The hunting will be difficult at best, but the comaraderie and fellowship should be good.
