Old man, new to site.

Thanks again.

Location, Southwest WI, driftless area. Rural, old farm house in family farm dairy country.

Name: Comes from Turkish or Arabic "qismet,: meaning fate, chance, or "portion of life." I figured this was my portion of life. :)

Suppose the stories ought to go in the general forum, eh? I'll search around for some, most of which show behaviors not to be emulated. :)

Couple have been in OutdoorWisconsinOnline, think last Dec issue was most recent. I HATE submitting stuff for publication. The writing and recollection is fun, though.

Both sides of Wisconsin

I joined in today and am happy to read of the Wisconsin hunts. I grew up in Racine and had relatives with farm land out "in the county". My first pheasant hunts with my dad and brother were the stuff of great memories. Now I am at the other end of the state in Iron Co. This area has has great grouse habitat and the cycle is up. I walk my property every day with my two dogs to stay in shape. My 74 acres are very hilly which keeps the cardio-vascular system going. I hope to be hunting many more years by keeping the legs young.

Yep, Bird Shooter, those darned legs....

I had two wirehairs over the last 23 years here. Best hunting of my life. :)

These days, it's just Mick, the new, used, dog and me. He's learning hunting and I'm learning about sensitive flushing dog.

We'll get there, maybeso.
