hey guys i have found a 1/4 section of a oat field i was wondering is it would be worth hunting... i talk to the guy and he is not going to do any work to it this fall . he isnt going to bail it so it should be about just short of knee high... its next to a corn field a pasture on the other side with a creek run them.. .i was wondering if i should just work the pasture and the creek or i should work the oat to... or i can just let the dog go were it wants lol ... thanks

Sage,

Nice lookin dog!

Oat fields are uncommon to be standing in fall but as far as hunting strategy I'd certainly give it a shot.

In big blocks of cover always forcus on the edges, diversity and tranisition zones. Remember that pheasants are an "edge" bird.

Pheasants like wheat and I know deer and horses like oats amd it is a small grain so what the heck.. Let er rip.

thanx uguide i was just wondering i know that partige love that kind of cover but wasnt sure about pheasants.. thanks again ill let u know what happens
