about a month ago i attended my first shoot to retrieve, actually a bird dog challenge meet, this past sat. went to my first nstra near wiggins colorado. bird dog challenge was far more fun to watch, at least they used birds that could fly. on a good note though i saw a brittney that could actually do the job. what struck my as odd is the dog had been completely shaved, top to bottom, so much so that even though his head was right, i didn't recognize the rest of him, thought i was looking at a some other kinda dog, owner thought it gave him more speed in warmer weather, don't know, the dog could run, found birds and actually brought them back, huh!!. hard to say that but he did. fun none the less, dragged pastor john along and he brought his puppy that then got to play with some of the dead quail

Never been to any Nstra events. In this area its pretty much all AF. In the AF trials you have to cover a lot of ground to see the dog work..

Had a good trial this weekend, and had a little success with my pup in the Derby.
