This is a new PF chapter in the Redding area. They are having an open meeting on Jan 26th where Dan Connely, PF west coast representative will be in attendance and giving a presentation. I am seriously considering driving the 250 plus miles up to attend. Of course if I do I will be bringing along a dog or two and making it a weekend and hunting some quail. If anyone is interested let me know and if you would like to hunt lets make it a day. Any help on quail hunting in the area would be great so feel free to pm me if you don't mind.

I've spoken on the phone with that Susan lady who's the president of that chapter several times. I'd planned to go to last month's meeting, but my Lab had a growth removed from one of his feet that day and I couldn't get him out of the vet's in time to make 1 1/2-hour drive (it was a weekday evening meeting). I'm going to try to go this Saturday, but can't guarantee I'll make it due to family obligations.

If you want to hunt quail in that region, I'd suggest the Tehama Wildlife Area. It's a massive piece of ground and I can't be more specific than that right now because I haven't been there in more than 2 years, but a buddy of mine was up there last week and got into four coveys. I'd start by simply locating a creek drainage.

Make sure you set a GPS waypoint where you enter the wildlife area – it's not difficult to get lost in there.

Thanks for the info Dp. It doesn't look as if anyone wants to make the trip with me being the last weekend of quail season and my brothers birthday is this weekend so as of right it doesn't look good for me making it.:( If I decide to go solo I'll let you know.
