Soooo looking over the sdgfp website and as far as I can tell non res hunters can only buy a ten day? And have to use it in five day increments? For 125$.... Any other options I'm missing for non preserve hunting? Just seems very inconvenient. Asking bc a buddy wants to just head up for a day of hunting. Can't get five days off and certainly won't need ten days.

That is the only option for a non-resident. They even inched it up a little this year. I am getting ready to bite the bullet for myself and two boy's:eek:.

2 five day increments or ten straight days.

I wish they would offer a 9 day license that could be broken into 3-3day increments. I could utilize that better than the 5s.

It is what it is, and has been that way forever .

NR Youth License is just $14 if under 16.

Bet the preserve owners love having their clients buy hunting licenses to hunt stocked birds.

Nonresident Shooting Preserve, One Day Allows nonresident to hunt on any licensed shooting preserve $48*?

Nonresident Shooting Preserve, Five-Day Same as above, 5-day period. $78*?
Nonresident Shooting Preserve, Season-Long Same as above, entire shooting preserve season. $123*?

License

The only other option that I use every year is if you purchase a license after Dec. 15th, you can use the second 5 day period during the next year's season. Kind of nice for those folks who like to close the season out in the snow. I think ND has the same system, only on a 7 day rotation. You sure never know what kind of weather those last couple weeks can bring, but the landscape is stark and beautiful that time of year. If I had enough money, I'd start the last week of Nov. and finish out the season, but I don't.

We make sure to always mark the last weekend of the season for the second 5 days. You can always get it changed and that way if you miss your original 5 days for some unforeseen reason or manage to get a second trip back, you won't have already have passed up your weeks. It seems to be the one thing that gets overlooked if plans get screwed up.
