no hunters

went to whetstone sat, there is no deer hunting during gun season, just hunted till about 11 dogs got hot, found one covey got my limit, 1, son got one also. went to two spots one on the south side and one on the north side, never seen another hunter. i figured they all went to Ks.
we wont't be going there until Dec.

a guy a few years ago said due to the low birds, he quit hunting mo after nov 1, and would take three or four trips to ks he found a lot more birds, every year i think he made a very wise decision

Did you get your limit of MDC cockleburr and greenbrier? How do you get that out of your setters coat? or are you still at it!

limit of quail from 1 covey?

Glad you had a good hunt, but did you shoot your limit of quail (8) birds out of just one covey?

You got into several coveys and only took a few birds from each....?

For reference, all of us quail hunters need to practice good conservation and only take a few birds from each covey we hunt. Then move on and try to find another covey to work...

I think he clearly stated that he shot "his limit" one bird, and his son shot another. If you don't shoot one, it's called bird watching!

Highbrass the way things are my personnel limit this year is one bird per covey.don't want to get into a quail argument with anyone. But it Is a fact that 70% of the birds will not make it a year. Out of this hunters will only be responisible for about 15%

At whetstone the birds get very smart. In a hurry
If you can get a covey shot odds r they will fly into some very thick cover
We did't even look for the singles


Follow up son went back this morning and found two covies. Of course he shot is auto three times. At each covey And he missed
But be had a good time
