New Year Quail - Average Weather Conditions

She sure did, other eye looked the same. It was a thick, woody weed, bent over, nasty mess. I actually shot a double, but could not come up with the 2nd bird. Went back to the truck for reinforcements with the shorthair, but still could not come up with it.

I carried a Rem 1100 28 gauge with 3/4 oz 7.5, which was good for the quail, but a little under gunned for late season pheasants.

Try Winchester XX heavy loads. Expensive but worth it. 1 oz. of 7.5's is what I shot for quail.

Not sure if they are made anymore…about 8 years ago I bought 4 flats of B&P Extra Rossa in 28 gauge. 1 1/16 of #6 Euro sized shot which would be the equivalent of 6.5 US measured. Great load for quail and kills pheasants good too.
