I have followed posts from this sight for many years, just never joined. I always like hearing the view points and thoughts of fellow birdhunters. I grew up in Iowa and graduated from UNI in the early 80's. I have hunted pheasants my whole life. Got my first dogs while I was in college. Hunted Labs for 20 yrs and GSPs the last 18 yrs. Have lived in Jackson, Michigan the last 25 yrs. With pheasant numbers low, started hunting grouse and woodcock and currently guide for North Branch Outing Club in the upper lower of Michigan. I always make time to hunt Iowa every year after I finish chasing woodland birds. No matter how old I get I still get excited to bring the dogs to Iowa and hunt those "Long Tails". I do it for the dogs now. My dad still lives in Fort Dodge and I will be there over Thanksgiving again this year. Hope to see ya there.
