Good Morning all. I'm new here from Central Oregon. I grew up in Central Washington hunting birds. Now I am retired and moved to Central Oregon. Most bird hunting here is Chukar and Quail. I will continue to make trips north for Pheasants. Lots of great information here,I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone. I will be getting my first bird dog pup this year. She will be a Ryman/Old Hemlock Setter from Wisconsin. I'm pretty excited about it..Cheers and Good Hunting...

Welcome to our site and congrats on the pup. How is the hunting up around the Baker area? I've been wanting to make a trip up that way:cheers:.

Good Morning Quail Hound...The hunting has been a little spotty this year. It has been a pretty dry fall and winter.Plenty of birds, but they've been spread out. I have heard of people seeing alot of birds in the Steens area.Hopefully next year we get a little more rain.

Yeah, same around here. We haven't received any rain at all yet when we should have 3-5" already. Not a bit of snow on the mountains either.:( I usually have a spot where I hunt mountain and valley quail in the same cover this time of year but there is now reason for the mtn quail to come out of the high country yet. Let's pray for some moisture.

Welcome FrostyMorn from the area you used to hunt. Enjoy the forum & your new pup. Last year was "Puppy Summer" for me & we had a blast this season.

Good Morning Brian, Yes, the Old Hemlock line they are from is out of Brucetown Mills West Virginia originally. They also have some Twombly,Pinecable, and Pinewild background in them..She's still not a sparkle in her Dads eye yet,I'm hoping soon..

Welcome to you from Oregon. I have done a little fishing and hunting in the Blue Mountains out of Prairie City and John Day. Great country. Share your stories and photos with us.
