NE Kansas

How's the pheasant population looking in that area? I know further west is supposed to be the hotspot, but are there birds to be found in the NE? Also, are the walk in properties decent? I think I've got an opportunity at the end of the month to hunt in that area for a day or two. I'll be coming home from visiting my wife's family in MN. I think I'm getting my wife a one-way ticket home so she can stay longer, and I'll just leave a bit early so I can stop off in KS for a little hunting. I don't want to drive across the state though, I'd rather keep it close to on line with my trip home. We're going to pull the ol' sleep in the truck and hunt all day routine...should be fun!

There just aren't many birds this year. However a day afield is better than a day at work so I'd still give it a shot. There's a good chance you'll see something.

I've hunted for 9 hours and seen one rooster during the entire hunt, and only a few hens. It's doesn't take much to keep me going.

I'll be coming down 35. It really doesn't matter to me where I stop on that route. I'm just planning on pulling into a parking lot or truck stop and sleeping in my truck, so I'm completely mobile.

ya you wont find alot of birds along that route.. a few places not to far off your route tho ive killed birds

any general areas you'd recommend that I focus on? I don't mind driving a little out of the way, I just don't want to drive half-way across the state.

I might be out there on Wednesday. I'm thinking of going out to Washington again and then working back toward Marysville. Temps suppose to be 10 degrees warmer than here in MO.
