My prediction for today - not one

pheasant will get shot today in South Dakota - not one. It will be the first time in recent history that no pheasant was shot during a regular pheasant season day. Just my prediction. If you hear of one getting shot today report it here.
 
I hope you are correct. Chasing a bunch of pheasants out of heavy cover into a winter wasteland on a day like this would be fatal to a lot of those birds. One could make a very good argument for an emergency several day closure of the pheasant season. Those days could be added on to the end of the season if that was felt to be important.
