moisture and harvest

Heading to SW MN next week, wanna skip the opening weekend zoo. Just wondering how the harvest is going, I know, I know, I can read the weekly report online but am wondering what anyone is seeing out there. I know the corn is ready to harvest, but as far as moisture in the corn, are there anymore benefits in waiting to squeeze out moisture? And I am guessing that with all the precip the sloughs are overflowing and flooded out more cover?

Thing is no matter the report ... the most important factor is the harvest near where you want to hunt.

Last year I was excited to be the first one to hunt a solid performing WMA after the combines rolled next door. Problem was they had just cut the field hours before and the birds were either tucked deep, on the other side of the WMA where corn still stood.
