There are two "preserves" that I frequent: Major Avenue - near Hutchinson and Wings of Watertown, near Watertown' both west of Mpls. Wings has an attractive program: $20 to scratch hunt and if you shoot a rooster - $12 per bird. This area is 30 minutes from Minnetonka...

When I traveled to SD for my second hunt, by mistake I headed out on Hwy.212. I was impressed with the area west of Granite Falls (hwy 67) almost to the SD border. Looks very birdy: crp, draws and good cover. Have never hunted this area; perhaps the DNR could offer some suggestions, but assume the bird count is way down. Good Luck. Jon
