Might have to switch to canvas

I missed my opportunity for testing in colder temps last week. This week will provide ample time periods.
 
Another superbly scientific test.

It is about 0 degrees right now at our house. I tried throwing the dummy up so it would land on a couple small patches that don't have snow on our driveway. Harder to do now that we got some snow recently. Even a partial inch of harder snow provides some cushioning.

I then switched techniques. I threw it *down* with moderate force, with the non rope end hitting squarely on bare ice. No breakage. I upped the force to a calibrated "pretty hard" level, again on the very end of the dummy, and...

I can say, with some level of certainty, that the Lucky Dog brand bumper's breaking load limit is somewhere between a 30 foot drop on a hard surface at 10 degrees, and a pretty hard throw downward on a hard surface at 0 degrees.

Clearly, more testing is needed. Stay tuned...
