Mid Season Report

It’s been all doom and gloom from Nebraska for the most part on here so I thought I’d lighten it up on here a little. The birds are tough to find and tough to hunt but if you try hard enough and have some luck you can still find some birds. For the most part I think the birds had a good hatch as I’ve seen more birds than normal in areas that I frequent each year…I’ve also ran into quite a few coveys of quail so they are rebounding from the brutal cold spell we had in February two years ago. Most of these birds have been shot on public land as well. 1D1F97DA-223F-4F37-ADE1-BC77A4D6EAFE.jpeg497C7DD8-DD57-4551-9656-E8A27CF60F3B.jpegB6626830-39B7-494E-8D1A-2DB3C1185FB7.jpegE9B79207-C0E8-483A-95B7-6387486F010E.jpeg

Another great Saturday. Had a quail too but my buddy’s dog ate it. That might be the end of my year. My daughter took the picture, no one told her the tails are the best part

Well I hunted at least once a week since this report and had some amount of success each time out. I save some small private spots for late in the season when the public land has been hammered pretty hard so most of my hunts were on private recently with some public peppered in every once in a while. Overall it was my best season yet with 36 pheasants in the bag…beat last year by 3. It’ll be a long wait until next season!
