Male/Female

I am looking for a bird dog and was debating whether to but a male or female. Any thoughts out there on which would be better for the hunt.
 
My son Len and I each have a Brittany from the same litter. I have a male him the female. The only difference I can see in the 2 dogs is Tony is bigger and more powerful. Also I see where I had more time to train and work with my dog, being retired. Len having to work a day job. My dog is a sharper in the field. He works faster than she does, he figures things out a lot faster than her. So I would say it depends on how much training and work you want put into the dog, for sex makes no difference......Bob
 
well i do have to say for a German Pointer side.. the GSP males are stronger and built bigger.. if you dont want a huge dog's head that can measure up to your hip.. female GSP's head would reach about your knee cap or more but not as big as a male.


I have a male GSP and hes a great dog. My mom has a English Settler mix and she listens well however, she doesnt like to sit when commanded nor does she stop a chase if shes locked on. My GSP will stop a chase if i command him to stop.

I think real life human genders can relate. LOL

drives me nuts

this is what i hate about males they have to smell every where a dog pisses and has to mark everything seem to be more jealous to ,any any agreement on that one? i could be wrong
 
If I pee out side my one male wants to mark were I pee. I wonder who he thinks is the alpha male sometimes :confused:.

you could have 15 male dogs pee in the same spot and they will repeat it til they move on.


i dont think its an alpha thing. Its marking territory.
 
Dogs dont know the difference.



if you all watched K-9 movie...


youre suppose to MOUNT your dog and BITE his ear to show whos alpha.

lol.

THEN maybe that'll help solve your problem. HAHA!

I HOPE you dont interpret that you MOUNT the dog with your pants down. now that would be wrong and cruel to animals. and no i dont wanna see that pic of a man with his pants down...


i have seen America's funniest home video of a horney donkey trying to bonk a man who had his pants and apparently his underware kept falling down.
