Im from and live in Nebraska but with my wifes family being in Louisiana going down there to vist and do some hunting, I hope someday that the state will help get quail hunting back. They have the habbitat for it, but you know these day everyone is more to care for duck hunting and bow hunting then upland birds. I am proud of what we have here in Nebraska and a proud PF an QF member.

I only know what I'm told, but I don't think we're gonna get our quail populations back. Fire Ants, House Cats, Possums, Coons, etc.. are too much. The biggest destruction to our quail - Clean Fence Rows. Back in 60's & 70's, most fence rows were grown up with briers & grass, would end up with a tree line. This is where quail would lay eggs. Now we spray our fence rows with round-up, along with weed & brush control over the entire farm. Just my thoughts, but I sure have good memories of busting coveys from grown up fence lines.
