From Northern Michigan.
Any ideas about where to stay.
Maybe rent a house.
3-5 guys.
4-6 dogs.
General area.
Looking for quail and phez.
We have pretty good dogs.
We’ve never been.
We’ve been to IA, SD, ND, Nebraska.

Thanks.

A lot of the State parks in Kansas have nice cabins. I don't believe dogs are allowed inside, so depending on your setup that might not work. Plenty of dog friendly motels throughout the state. Tough to say on locations. Hunting will most likely be spotty. If you will be hunting public ground it might be best to identify an area or two with a decent amount of WIHA and go from there. Hope you enjoy yourselves if you do make it to our state. You'll find good hospitality.

What stink said about dear season , we were hunting private ground in the smokies and found we couldn’t hunt some areas we normally hunted because of deer hunters where in there ,

Hunt the woody cover for quail. Pheasants have turned into a bonus for us. Plan on doing lots of driving and scouting while there. We have hunted north and south of I70 over the years. Cant say one direction has been better than the other. Really tough to '' knock on doors'' in western third of the state. Seems most of the farmsteads are not where the owners live anymore. Best of luck!!

This is the biggest thing that has changed over the last 20 years or so. See something that looks good, knock on the closest door, the person who lives there doesn't know who owns it and has no idea who does.

Thank you.
We’re excited to try quail.
Checking out the Hays area.

If you stay in Hays make sure and eat at Gellas Diner. It’s a great restaurant and brewery. Liberty Brewing I think is the name of the beer. Absolutely can not go wrong.
