Well looks like the winter in the core MN pheasant range was not a pheasant killer we should have plenty of carryover breed stock come spring time...

Here's to a good hatch & lush cover this spring/fall
 
I agree. Things sure went from bad to great in a hurry - even up past
Fergus Falls the fields have been mostly black since the big meltdown in January. Cattails and other winter cover is in great shape and the birds are putting on fat again. Should be in great shape for breeding. At this point a decent spring and early summer should bring yet another gain in the roadside counts this fall.
