Looking for some new boots

I have the Irish Setter Havocs. Really comfortable. This will be their third season. No noticeable wear to speak of.

If you are on a budget and looking for a good pair of shoes, Rocky has a good sale on 2 different styles 400 gram and waterproof and one with vibram soles. Put in the code Hunt55 and get them for 55 bucks. Normally 119-129.00:thumbsup:

Boots

If you haven't bought your boots yet. Check out Timberland White Ledge or 8" hikers. They keep changing the name of the boots, but the same thing for 10-12 years. They are extremely light and waterproof. A Grouse hunter told me about them. I have Danner's, and Rocky's, etc. They stay in the closet. The Timberlands go on the trips. Everybody that has taken my suggestion on these only wear these now. Get a pair and you will be SOLD.

Love my Red Wings. Model 877. Made in USA, reworkable. They are a moc toe, uninsulated boot. I'm on my fifth season with them. I keep them treated with Obenauf's Extreme LP. As long as I don't stand in water they keep my feet dry. After they broke in they are by far the most comfortable boot I've worn. I'm going to have them reworked this winter. The tread is getting worn out. Hope this helps. Good luck hunting!

I've been through 10 pair of boots in the past few years, and I've always had trouble with blisters. Even tried the Pronghorns, but they didn't fit my feet well. All I wanted was a lightweight waterproof boot that felt more like a hiking boot. I picked up a pair of these at Bass Pro a few months ago:

I didn't have much time to break them in before heading out the week after opening weekend, so I was a little worried. However they ended up being great - very comfortable, no leaks, not too stiff and no blisters after 20+ miles over 3 days. We'll see how they hold up over the long haul.

They have a little bit (200g) of Thinsulate, but definitely seem to breathe well. The only thing I don't like is they don't have speed laces at the top, so they take longer to lace up. But that's not a big deal since I don't have to change socks 3 times a day.

So like quite a few guys have said, find a store where you can try a bunch of different boots on and find the ones that work for you.
