I know Colorado birds are smaller than most other states. But, I have been curious about tailfeathers, compared to other states' birds. My longest that I measured, until this weekend, was 22". This weekend, I bagged one with 23 5/8" feathers! Taken in the very general vicinity of Wray.
How long are the longest you have harvested this year, in Colorado? I am sure someone will have feathers longer than mine. I have heard that Nebraska has over 24", so I imagine we could have some long feathers in NE Colorado.
