Does anyone know the date when you can purchase a license and use the 2nd 5 day period for the following season? I looked through my reg book but couldn't find any info on it.

Bob,
Not sure this will answer your question, but I bought a second NR 10 day license in January 2021(my third week) and was able to set the end date as January 31, 2022. Then had a new start date established for when I arrived this year in November.

I'm not going to go search the rule book right now, but I do know that one of my annual trips that is always the 2nd weekend of December was always one week short of that license rule. I don't recall if it always seemed to start on the Monday following our weekend trip, or if it was the 3rd weekend, or if it was just a mid December date that always seemed to be just after our 2nd weekend of December trip. So my short lazy answer is sometime in mid-December.

It's December 15th I believe. I did it last year. Shot 5 days after Christmas 2020, used the next 5 this past October 2021.

Q: When can I purchase a nonresident small game hunting license – because I want to use my first five days this year and use the second five days next year?

A: On December 15 the next year’s licenses are available for sale.

When I bought my "Christmas License" in 2020, I had to buy a new Habitat Stamp too. We all actually buy the next year's license after December 15th, so they have you buy the next year's stamp at the same time. The website shows my Habitat Stamp as valid from 12/25/2020 (Christmas Hunt start date) to 1/31/2022.

When I bought another license for this fall after I used the leftover 5 days, I did not buy another Habitat stamp as it was showing the 1/31/2022 date on my license

Just check the Habitat stamp effective date on your present license. It will show you if you need one. If you buy December 15, 2021 or later, the stamp date should show the effective date ending 01/31/2023

Maybe this is the easy way to show it. This was my "Christmas License" Habitat stamp purchase:

Habitat Stamp(2021)Tran #: 127XXXXX Cost: $25.00 Agent Fee: $0.00
Issue Date: 12/25/2020 7:07:05 AM
Authorization Code: T03025L-09XXXXXXX-X
Period 1 Effective Dates: 12/25/2020-1/31/2022

Thanks I was just curious. I was thinking about doing 4 days of Kansas this week or maybe waiting and doing it a week later in sd or Iowa. Probably depend on what the 7 day weather forecast is looking like a week from now. It’s getting so danged dry here
