I would call that map pretty off base for some of the western counties as far as high concentrations. Our local Wildlife writer for the eagle has also spread some false info imo.

If i can ever get ahold of an email from one of the researchers at KSU I'll see what info is in it and can post it.

Thanks!!! Any additional info would be great!

Believe it or not, in the fall of 2004 I found a band from a PC in a fence row on one of my favorite haunts which also is a trapping/banding site in Finney County.

I never did call it in nor did I realize its significance. I lost the damn thing between my cross country move I made a year later and then back to KS 2 years after that. It may still be in my stuff somewhere. When I found it I was as perplexed as hell as to what it was until I had found out the area I was at was a trapping/tagging area for the birds. Who knows maybe a researcher dropped it as they were walking the fence row or maybe it fell off a bird as it was moving down the fence. If I recall I think it was 2-3 miles from the booming grounds so Im guessing it fell off of a bird.

Really wish I still had it or could find it. Ive dug through some of my things a couple times but came up empty handed.
