South Dakota county here we come! Going with Skye a buddy and his HS age son and their dog Tracy the brittany.

Day 1 Miner county. I've got a couple spots out there I think the birds will be layed up in, and a few new honey holes to try.

Day 2 we're gonna hunt in a secret county. Really excited to try some public spots I've scouted. Half the work was figuring out how to access public land, that usually makes them less traveled and more better. At night we're gonna take a couple friends out and buy them dinner. One guy has a farm loaded with birds too.

Day 3 is an open playbook.

Looking forward to all of it. This January late season deal is really a boon for when you want one last trip.

Saw 100+ feeding in a picked cornfield adjacent to Hepner WPA west of Howard a week ago…then, almost hit several Sunday am as I was driving home…almost hit 3 flying over the road around 8 am…swerved hard, had 15 in the truck already…same exact spot.
 
BB, have you hunted anywhere near Carthage this year? I have not hunted that area in many years, but wonder if it is as good as it used to be.

No, but I know guys who do and did well….west of Carthage a few miles…north of 34 10-15 miles…they own ground there and also access some contiguous private ground that’s got decent habitat…
