Last weekend....

So last weekend went out to the farm to build some guzzlers for the birds. We got one completed on a 1/4 of crp. I will try and post some pictures of it in the next few days. While I was out there I happened along some baby quail. Hopefully the heat won't do them in.

I also took my pup Trigger out for his first real field work. Right off the bat he pointed 2 roosters. Made my freaking day!!!!! Didn't see a lot of other birds but the deer sure were out and about.

Birds in Kansas?

Birds in Kansas? Dead from thirst and heat. Kaput. Gone. Nada. Nil. Zip.

not any birds arround here- seems the few that made it thru last season have been seen running the roads north to find wetter conditions-

I even set out a sprinkler so they wouldn't run north- wonder if they can carry water to make the long trek

guzzler?

Hope this helps any other questions let me know.

We haven't had decent rain at the farm all yr and hae had one of these out for a little over a month and it is almost full from morning dew and humidity in the air. A very valuable tool to combat the drought and keep pheasant and quail hydrated.
