I had the dogs out one more time before shutting them down for a couple of months. It won't be long before the animals will be nesting and I don't want to disturb them.

The find:
I heard some roosters crowing in the distance but the hen was the only bird I saw. She held tight in the grass and I had to kick around for a bit until she flushed. No signs from the quail. I think the winter ice storms did them in.
The dogs got a good bath and will now stay out of the fields and woods. They won't like it but that's the way it goes.
