I have seen reports of nesting woodcock, so today was the last run with the dogs for a bit. I grabbed the good camera but left it in the garage after I got the dogs ready to go. That was unfortunate because I was able to move some birds today. The first point produced two hens and a rooster, then there was a small group of quail followed by a single quail. Next, it was a pair of hens followed by a single hen. I spent some time in a different area in search of woodcock but none where found. The day ended with 5 deer running out from a tree line. After that, it was time to go home and give the dogs a bath.
Here are some pictures I took with the phone:
On the small group of quail:
I did flush a woodcock from this area yesterday.
On the single quail:
I didn't get any good pictures from the pheasant finds.
Now my time will be spent working on improving the area a little more and getting things done at home. Spring is here!
