If your out and about in the woods and water this summer keep an eye out for Kansas native species of wildlife. There is a list on the KDWP site. They are trying to catalgue the existing native creatures to design a management plan to save them. Most of what we care about is already listed or non-native, but you never know what effective the blind cave salaminder,or some small crustacean might have on everything around it. As they say when it's gone it's gone for good, and anything the way it was in the natural order of things is better than the alternative. We loose some terrible # of species daily world wide of plants and animals, somewedon't even know about till they are gone. Good hunting.

Thank you for bringing this up! My family (wife and sons) just love everything wildlife/outdoors. I'll give 'em this list. Those boys are always harassing something in the woods:rolleyes:
