looking for hunting places in kansas besides public. just two guys with bad knees looking for small corners and tailwater pits?

what kind of money we looking at. i can pay for pen raised birds and hunt in my back yard. mainly looking to meet some good people in Kansas that enjoy the hunt. possibly trade some texas fishing trips for some good field hunts.

this is the best time to hit the WIHA's- if there is decent cover for roosting close to feed fields- there will be birds- besides- many have hit them all pretty hard- but the birds just moved- most likely came back- not a good time for big groups- but a solo hunter or just two can do surprisingly well-

real good time to let a decent running pointing dog loose

thanks, guys for replying. i have one good farmer i talked with last week in Garden city and got permission. i just dont want to wear my welcome out . and driving from north texas all the way to Kansas i was hoping to line a few people up to meet before i go again.

Knock on doors, and bring some of those fish with ya.

If you get permission to hunt, a bag or two of fish on your way out, and a thank you card when you get home could go quite a long way.

Us folks that live on the East side of Kansas are spoiled with the fishing as well though. Plenty of quality lakes, not to mention many more just across the state line in Missouri.

Got it in the mail :) Fish might be another story but a good idea. Like the the one farmer said " not much water above ground in Kansas"

If you've got a good cooler, dry ice should keep them plenty froze for at least a few days. And you're right. Farmers in the Southwest probably don't get too many good fish meals. Me, I've got about a dozen gallon bags of crappie in the deep freeze :D

thats some of the best. we do alot of crappie also blue cat!! got a place on texhoma and another buddy has a place on the coast in the town of surfside. do alot of shark and red fishing down there. going to try and trade a weekend at the beach for a weekend of pheasant hunting in kansas.
