Just a thought

I have thought about this for several years. Is there any work a greenhorn could do, for free? I have plenty of time these days and would love to get up there and do something for somebody. Love the country and the people, plus the opportunities that can be had.

Be a Harvest Hand

You can do what I did for 12 years -- be a harvest hand for a farmer. The wheat and small grains harvest is probably still going in the Dakotas and Canada. This late summer and fall the corn, bean, and milo harvest will start. I worked for free but was offered hunting rights on the land and made some great friends.

Hey, I'm "up there" from central Texas and I have floors that need waxin'; walls need paintin'; buses need wrenchin'; grass needs mowin'; school is a month away!

Probably not what you had in mind...:D...but I am "up there" from you.

Where are you? I was in Schulenburg for many years and my three boys live in Bullard, Nacogdoches, and Poynor. My son is looking for some help to finish building his flight pens for quail. If you are close to Poynor let me know or contact him at ggsportsman.com.

Just looking for something to do for about a week. Can't leave the family for to much more time. Maybe I will just go and drive back roads and chat with the locals.
