january hunting

I like to hunt birds "whenever" I only get so many weekends out west so if it's 80 degrees I'll go and if it's 20 degrees and snowing like crazy so be it. I agree 100% with being quiet, treat the field like you are hunting turkeys you dont scream, slam doors etc in Jan and get into as many birds for sure. We also hunt WIHA areas that dont look like real pheasant cover such as pastured fields that dont look like much but if you walk em you often find little patches that may only be 10 yards or 100 yards across of weeds, sunflowers etc and may have a bird or 2 in it. Those marginal areas dont get walked much at all due to the way it looks. If you hit milo fields that are 5 miles off a main hwy or bigger town they will be pounded out and not hold any birds.
