It's raining!

Enough rain up here to make the little drainage cuts around the house foundation run some water. This should really help on the King fire if not stop its spread if they got the same amount.
Looked out the window to see a young buck with a single forked antler. The other side is just a 2" nasty looking stub. One of those odd things in nature.

Just now there is an emergency alert about flash floods in my county shown by my cable provider. Man! It's not nice to mess with Mother Nature!

moisture

the fall rain report for the upper 2/3 of calif. came out today and the forecast is really poor. the fall rains that you guy's depend on may not be showing up this year. more bad new and you don't need any.

cheers

Come on!!! RAIN!!!

Glad you are getting some up there Cal. There are a few threatening clouds over my house right now and the wind has been blowing the wrong direction (usually a sure sign a storm is on the way) all day but no precip yet. It sure was a nice change of pace paving in some cool weather today, another 1,200 tons down and another 5,000 planned weather permitting.

Still no rain but thats alright. Getting the raisins off the ground, if you are friends with enough farmers eventually you will be asked to help harvest. 12 hrs down and another 12 tomorrow and this field will be done.

Rained again last night but I think that's it for some time. Just as well I didn't cover all the wood i split this year and after drying it all summer in the sun it's now wet again.
Passed another aging milestone. I think I bought the last set of spark plugs in my life. They're good for 100K and they'll take my keys away by then.
There's no hunting potential in the vineyards is there? I guess Doves maybe but other than that the vineyards I've seen are like animal deserts. A big bucket of raisins would be a nice compensation.

Awe yes, Iridium tipped spark plugs. Changed mine at 175k on the truck and they looked brand new, my mechanic laughed at me and said they will last forever and I wasted my money.

Dove hunting is great in the vines, lots of bunnies and believe it or not a small covey of quail in almost every 40. Impossible to target though as they can just move a few rows down and they've won. I think hunting rights are payment enough but I'm sure there will be a big Sun Maid care package waiting at the end of the job.

Mine were Platinum and had 120K on them. The ground was eroded a little and the Platinum pin in the center electrode had eroded down into the porcelain but they never misfired. I replaced them with 4 ground platinum plugs. I know only the ground with the least resistance will arc but that just means it will stay in specs 4 times longer than a single ground. Now if my mileage just goes up .02mpg I'll be happy.

Surprise! i just went outside and found it had rained hard sometime in the last 3 hours! If this keeps up it's going to mess around and actually help things.

The sky finally broke open last night, lightening and thunder, and gave us just enough rain to make a mess. Paper trays were too wet for the machine to pick up so we're going to try again around noon.

I don't know, the farmer didn't seem to worried and it seems to rain on trays every year. Sun Maid will be hauling them out tomorrow and they have all the equipment to save them.

Glade to hear your getting Rain. We got hammered again yesterday Got 2.5 Inches. We have to be way over are annual rain fall amount.
