I'm already thinking about the weekend! This is horrible.

Friday will be a duck hunt. Saturday I'll stop and get two more heated water bowls on the way out to quail hunt with the wife and pointers. Sunday I may stick around closer to home and do a combo phez/quail hunt with one pointer. Going to have to do the rock paper scissor thing to figure which one goes because it's only going to be a morning hunt so no need for multiple dogs. I'm thinking orange and white may be the color of the day for Sunday. It's the closest I have to Chiefs colors.

Oh, and I think I am becoming a pointer junky. I'm already researching my next pup. Is that a bad thing? Do I need to request the assistance of a shrink for this issue? Are there meds I can take to stop the madness?

I've been hunting since I was 11. After putting the gun away from the last hunt, I'm always looking forward to the next time I can go out. I'll be checking the weather, looking for snow, and hoping my schedule can cooperate.

Ahh found it now. You know it really depends where you hint and when. Used to do quite well with my labs in Kansas. But since the birds have been down and I have been traveling to SD more, I wouldn't trade him for anything. I am driving back now. I Will tell you he put up close to 20 shootable roosters in 3 days and at least that many hens. My enlightenment has been to go where the birds are. Oh and birds are down and I shoot like crap

I agree. I've wanted a flushing dog for pheasants for the longest time, but I spend quite a bit of time quail hunting around here and there's just something about the pointing dogs that "does it" for me.

We'll be back in SD next season:thumbsup: I just haven't quite reached the point in my life (financially) where I'm willing to spend that $ every year.

I am waiting tll saturday mornin already. Had to head back in late last night due to my boss being out of town. We usually stay and hunt monday with a lot less hunters. I had to leave the rest of my group and i wasnt very happy about it. Hopefully this will be a fast week.

I have a wonderful little liver and white male that I would love to find a nice hunting home for. He's just to much dog for me to handle. Can't get a handle on him. But if someone can he will be a bird finding machine!

I'll end up keeping him probably. He just has so much run in him it's unreal! He gives an entire new meaning to covering ground.

Duckn66 , those pointers are just amazing at times. Ive had 4 of em. I now have a female gsp who is obviously a little slower paced. A pointer is sorta like a gun that is only full auto. Untill they keel over in a seizure they dont slow down. If you still have my number from the pm last year you should give me a shout. I am hoping I can still find a few quail within 10 miles of home again this year. Maybe we can hit em since it didnt happen last year. Radar
