Can anyone recommend a hunting outfit or guide with dog or dogs for an upland bird hunt (Pheasaant, Chukar, Quail) for 1/2 day for full day?
I am looking for someone that does not charge an arm and a leg!
Here in Texas, I live in the San Antonio, TX area, the large companies and corporations have driven the prices out of sight. These big companies take their best clients fishing and hunting and pass the costs along to us, the consumer. The guides just keep jacking up the rates because they know they will get it from these large outfits.
Now, these guides want $400 to $600 per gun for a half day hunt!
I can handle $275 - 300, but that's about it when you consider what I would spend on gas just to get there.
At these high prices, I hope the guides choke on those birds that they don't sell!
