pretty quiet on here lately, not a good sign for hunting success I imagine. my pre-season optimism has slowly degraded to apathy as the season has progressed, but things may be looking up a bit as this snow is finally melting some. not even worth going out lately in the Southeast, as all the grass was laid down by that first storm and then after a small melt it crusted over. no way you can "crunch" up on a bird in those conditions. what is the snow like in central and western parts of the state? has it melted? at this point I will just take a walk that is not breaking through snow every step. is anyone shooting anything? i don't want your spots, I just need a little hope. did see a covey last time I went out, but they must have been running on the ice as they busted 200 yards ahead of me. ok, i'll say it, this year sucks.
