Illinois outlook????

Well fellow Illinoisians, what is the prospect of birds looking like this year so far? I know our cover here in the central part of the state is looking really good.
Anyone hear how the state program is going to go this year? Are they going to still have the pay hunts?

Well I have seen a hen and a brood of 4 chicks about 6 weeks old last week, and saw 2 different pair of quail twice last week a cock and hen each as well, hopefully that says alot about the bird hatch this year.

was out over the weekend with the dog, corn still in the field but kicked up 3 cocks and 6 hens at the field edge. looks good so far in Rossville. IL.
 
no to many birds here in southern il. A few coveys of quail but no enough to speak of looks like ill be doing the dnr hunts. Does anyone know where i could go to get into some wild birds maybe a little farther north?
