Ice conditions in the cattails - NE SD

Cattail hunters - what are you finding for ice conditions in the cattails? Are hip boots required or has it been cold enough that the ice is supporting hunters? The cold temps coming with help but has it been cold enough to freeze them up completely yet? Just looking for some observations from the hunters out in the aberdeen area? Thanks in advance.
 
Was in NE SD last week. As long as there is no running water, the ice was fine. Did break through once, but there was some flow going that I was unaware of.

Only hunted private land, but we did good in the cattails.
