party of 5 just lost our weekly rental of only 20 bucks per night per gun. Might also might loose our private hunting land that we paid only 50 buck per gun per day to hunt. If anyone would be able to share any info on weekly house rentals near platte or stickney that are dog friendly it would be awsome. I will hunt public land again if I have too just need a place for the guys to hang out we are all tired of the hotel bit. Man you just dont know what ya got till its gone.

I was looking into the whole UGuide deal and compared to the other lodges I found online it seems to be not to bad of a deal. I was just hoping to find something a little cheaper. The deal we had before was totaly unreal, we had two to five guys with six nights of lodging and three days private land hunting (other two days hunting was public land) all for $270.00 per gun for the whole 6 days. I know finding a place like this again is unlikely but its worth a try. If we do us UGUIDE I think it would be for week 9 we always come out the first week of December and we need lodging that will let us bring our dogs in the house without a kennel.

J Bar or Gunners or Boar's Nest all allow dogs in.

Keep in mind that when you get an "unreal" deal like you had those tend to be not sustainable. Ours are at market rate and if you always want a place to hunt and not have to look for a new one every year then look no further. When you look deeper and compare all you will find value in our prices, all things considered.

the Boars Nest would probably be what we wanted if we choose UGUIDE for this years hunt because its a shorter drive for all of us. I will have to talk to the other guys in my party to see what they want to spend on a trip this year. One bit of info that might help is the ammount of birds we could expect to see each day in the field. 2010 in Aurora Center was awsome we hunted public land for two days and saw more birds than I have seen the previous 6 times out and the private land was even better we would see 100's of birds in each field we hunted. Last year was a down year and we hunted hard to see 30 to 40 birds each day witch was still ok we we able to get limits on the private land two out of the three days we hunted it (some better shooting on our parts and we still could have had limits each day on private land.

On average I would expect to see 100-200 birds per day. Boars Nest has excellent cover.
